The dissemination of the results of our research is mainly carried out by publications in scientific journals and contributions to
conferences and symposia, in order to allow astronomical community to know about our work and to use our results to conduct new
researches. Nevertheless, we acknowledge the importance of the dissemination of our work to the general public and the popularization
of astronomy. To achieve this, we must communicate the results of our research through mass media.
Furthermore, our Group arranges talks and public astronomical observations, in order to popularize science and arouse the interest
of people in astronomy. Precisely, the activities related to popularization of astronomy that the members of the Research Group
Fuentes de Alta Energía en la Galaxia have recently carried out were awarded the
I Prize Universidad de Jaén for Scientific
Popularization in 2010 (link in Spanish).
In addition, the members of our Group participate in the
Programa Universitario de Mayores de
la Universidad de Jaén, an educational program that aims for promoting science and culture amongst people over 55 years old.
Within this program, we give ten lectures about astronomy to each group of students. The lectures are given in the city of Jaén
as well as in nearby towns.
